According to a source from the Beira Baixa Sub-regional Command, “the alert for a fall from height [about 20 meters] was given at 11:52 AM, and death was declared at the scene.”
The fall is believed to have occurred from an electricity pole.
Six operatives and three vehicles were present at the scene, including the Medical Emergency and Resuscitation Vehicle (VMER) from Castelo Branco, a vehicle from the GNR (National Republican Guard), and another from the Castelo Branco Volunteer Fire Department.
According to Civil Protection, the body was transported to the Institute of Legal Medicine in Castelo Branco.
