A man was arrested at Humberto Delgado Airport on Tuesday on suspicion of forgery.
“The suspect presented a passport at border control that raised doubts about its authenticity, which is why the PSP was called,” authorities explained in a statement released on Wednesday.
“After various procedures and submission to expert analysis, it was confirmed to be a false document, as well as a falsified identification card,” they added.
The 38-year-old man was arrested and will be presented for his first interrogation on Wednesday to determine the appropriate precautionary measures.
When contacted for more information about the situation, the Cometlis (Lisbon Metropolitan Command) could only confirm that the passenger was in Terminal 1.
