A source from the Sub-Regional Command of Emergency and Civil Protection of Baixo Alentejo informed Lusa news agency that the accident, for which the alert was given at 6:45 PM, occurred at kilometer 99.100 of EN267, which connects Almodôvar and Mértola.
According to the same source, two other people were assisted by emergency teams at the accident site.
Contacted by Lusa, a source from the GNR Territorial Command of Beja specified that the fatality was a passenger in the vehicle involved in the accident.
The rescue operations mobilized the Almodôvar Fire Department, the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM), and the GNR, with a total of 21 operatives, supported by nine vehicles, including a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance and a helicopter.
