Fernando Daniel, Calema and Plutónio headline the Mar Me Quer festival in Portimão

Singers Fernando Daniel and Plutónio and duo Calema are headliners of the Mar Me Quer festival that will take place between August 10 and 12 in the riverside area of Portimão, the organization announced today.

The event that is concerned with environmental causes and wants to “set the tone” so that more and more people contribute to the planet’s sustainability also presents in its program the ‘rappers’ Julinho KSD, Who is Bob?, T-Rex, Rafaell Dior, Ivandro, and Nininho Vaz Maia.

The festival has joined the Sê-lo Verde Program, which aims to create a more sustainable environment for events by encouraging green practices and reducing environmental impact, the organization said in a statement.

All the decoration will be created by plastic artists, with the use of some recycled materials, “amplifying through art, the need to act in face of the climate emergency we live in,” points the organization.

The festival kicks off on August 10 with a sunset party hosted by DJ Wilson Honrado, followed by performances by São Toméan band Calema, Who’s Bob? and Ivandro.

On the second day, the ‘rappers’ Plutónio, Julinho KSD, T-Rex and the British Luso Rafael Dior take the stage.

Portuguese singer-songwriter Fernando Daniel closes the event on August 12, a day that opens with DJ Nuno Luz followed by singer Nininho Vaz Maia.

The doors of the Mar Me Quer festival open every day at 6:30 pm, with prices ranging from 15 euros (daily tickets) to 25 euros (two-day pass).
