Portuguese musician David Fonseca will return to the coliseums of Porto and Lisbon in November 2024, to celebrate 25 years of career, but will also feature a new album, the artist’s promoter announced today.
More than a year away, the concerts are announced for November 15 at the Coliseu do Porto and the next day at the Coliseu dos Recreios in Lisbon.
Although he says that in 2024 there will be a new album, David Fonseca explained, in a statement, that these concerts in coliseums are “celebrating 25 years of career”, a pretext to “build something different on stage” and visit “the creative process and all the songs that are part of this story”.
“This is a show that crosses music, performance and cinema, where the stories behind each song are revealed through images, words and multimedia moments,” said the press release.
David Fonseca celebrated his 50th birthday last June, taking the opportunity to also celebrate 25 years of career, counting from the edition of Silence 4’s debut album, “Silence Becomes It”, in 1998.
Recently, David Fonseca released the theme “Paranoia”, an unreleased theme composed from the deconstruction of “Borrow”, one of the first successes of Silence 4.
Born in Leiria in 1973, David Fonseca made his name with Silence 4, a pop rock quartet that lasted until 2001.
In 2003, so twenty years ago, David Fonseca released “Sing me something new”, the first of several solo albums.
David Fonseca was part of the collective Humanos, edited a tribute to David Bowie, maintained a tradition of recording Christmas songs, has composed and produced for other artists, such as Sérgio Godinho and Cláudia Pascoal, and in 2012 edited the photography book “Right here, right now”.
The most recent album, “Living Room Bohemian Apocalypse”, came out in 2022 and was described by himself, in an interview with the Lusa agency, as a visual album in seven episodes, made in a pandemic context, with funding from the Garantir Cultura program.
The album was also David Fonseca’s first in independent edition, already without Universal Music, of which he was an artist for two decades.
