PSP union ends four days of protests in Lisbon today

The Trade Union Association of Police Professionals (ASPP / PSP) ends today, in Lisbon, the various protests to demonstrate the “dissatisfaction with the policies that have not responded to the serious problems affecting the PSP and internal security”.

The protests, which began on Thursday in Faro, took place in several areas of the country, with a gathering of police officers today in front of the Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the Public Security Police.

According to the ASPP, the main demands of the police are low salaries, pre-retirement, lack of attractiveness of the profession and the health subsystem.

In addition to Faro, the various actions of struggle to challenge “the policies of this (un)government” passed through Porto, Leiria, and end today next to the Lisbon Metropolitan Command.

Last week, ASPP leaders met with the Minister of Internal Administration, José Luís Carneiro, but the scheduled forms of struggle remained unfinished.
