The National Festival 2 (N2) sets up stage in Chaves from today, next to kilometer zero of the road that runs through the country to Faro, to listen until Saturday musicians like Salvador Sobral, The Black Mamba and Mallu Magalhães.
This music festival was born around the National Road 2 (EN2), is organized by the Chamber of Chaves and the Indieror association.
The mayor of Chaves, Nuno Vaz, told Lusa in mid-July that the festival, which was born five years ago, has a “sound and identity of its own” because it is associated with the “mythical EN2 and kilometer zero”, and because the project “was designed, conceived and is being implemented by a group of young people from Flavi, in cooperation with the municipality”.
Salvador Sobral, The Black Mamba, Mallu Magalhães, Isaura, Glockenwise, Sal, Milhanas, Motherflutters, Meta, Margô, Antía Muíno and DJ Alex D’Alva Teixeira are the names that integrate the poster of the festival that lasts for three days.
Admission is free and, in addition to the main stage, installed in the Public Garden of Chaves, there will also be a travel stage, that is, an itinerant structure that, according to the organization, has as its “main objective to bring music, animation, and the festival spirit to other parts of the city”.
Marta da Costa, producer of Indieror, said that this event aims to “be the meeting point between those who start and those who close the EN2 route”.
“With the zero kilometer of the longest road in Portugal as a backdrop, the N2 Festival is itself a path to be traveled. May this be the beginning of a new adventure or the culmination of a long journey,” she added, quoted in a statement.
According to the promoters, the N2 Festival wants to “combat desertification and promote culture in the transmontana region, through synergies with agents from other parts of the country, thus seeking to contribute to equal opportunities”.
