CP train drivers’ strike with full adhesion until 6:00 am

Until 06:00, 70 trains were scheduled and all were suppressed. Disturbances in circulation expected until the 21st.

The adhesion to the strike of the train drivers of CP – Comboios de Portugal is total, having been suppressed all connections scheduled until 06:00, according to sources from the union and the company.

“The strike is proceeding within the parameters that we were anticipating. There is no train running at this moment. The paralysis is total,” António Domingues, of the National Union of Train Drivers of Portuguese Railways (SMAQ), told Lusa at 07:00.

According to the balance made by CP to Lusa, until 06:00 70 trains were scheduled and were all suppressed.

On its website, CP had already alerted passengers to disruptions in circulation as of Wednesday, February 8, and until February 21.

“Due to strikes, called by the Sindicato Nacional dos Maquinistas dos Caminhos de Ferro Ferro Portugueses (SMAQ), Sindicato Nacional dos Trabalhadores do Setor Ferroviário (SNTSF) and Sindicato Ferroviário da Revisão Comercial Itinerante (SFRCI), there will be severe disruptions in train circulation, nationally, in the period between 00:00 on February 08, 2023 and 24:00 on February 21, 2023.”
