The 631st edition of the São Mateus Fair, which opens today and runs until September 21, features performances by Carolina Deslandes, Pedro Abrunhosa, Mariza, Calema, Fernando Daniel, Giulia Be and Richie Campbell, among others.

“It will be 43 days of celebration of the oldest fair in the Iberian Peninsula, with lots of music, with numerous renowned artists of Portuguese and international music”, assures the organization in a press release.

In addition to the musical shows, also with bands such as Os Quatro e Meia or Xutos & Pontapés, for example, on the stage of the Fair there will still be space for comedians and mini shows for the youngest.

According to Viseu Marca (organizer of the event), also the “sport, cinema, gastronomy and traditional commerce will be highlighted in the programming” of the 631st edition of the event that is today, at night (21:00), inaugurated by the president of the Assembly of the Republic, Augusto Santos Silva.

“Until September 21, Giulia Be, Pedro Sampaio, Xutos e Pontapés, Fernando Daniel, Os Quatro e Meia, Noble, Mariza, Calema, Slow J, Richie Campbell, Pedro Abrunhosa and Comité Caviar take the stage of the fair”, highlights the statement.

And also “Carolina Deslandes, Marisa Liz, Toy, Bárbara Tinoco, Paulo Gonzo and the Hybrid Theory as a Tribute to Linkin Park” and, thinking of the youngest, the São Mateus Fair has two minimal shows: Masha and the Bear and The Choné Sheep.

In Sports, the event will feature “more than 45 activities, with emphasis on the 40th Viseu Half Marathon, the 25th International Handball Tournament, the Cycling Marathon, the 2nd Gaming tournament and the 2nd edition of the Padel tournament”.

“The program also includes moments of humor, with” Viseu a Rir “, which takes Fernando Rocha and Gilmário Vemba to the stage “, underlines the document sent by Viseu Marca, organizer of the event.

This year, the São Mateus Fair is associated with the celebrations of the 900th anniversary of the attribution of the Foral to Viseu, which are marked this year, “with several moments alluding to the date” and has a Sustainable Event Certificate.

This certification “led to the development of an Action Plan for Sustainability, which includes 53 measures to be implemented in the areas of Governance and Economy, Society and Culture and Environment and Climate Change”.

The Mayor of Viseu, Fernando Ruas, believes that “it will be another edition marked by success” and that it will attract “thousands of visitors” to the city in the year of the celebrations of the 900th anniversary of its Charter of the Charter, attributed by Queen Dona Teresa.
