By the end of July, the Mar 2020 program had approved 9,868 projects, with an investment of 775.6 million euros in the fisheries, aquaculture and processing sector, according to the latest balance sheet released.
“As of July 31, 9,868 projects had been approved under the Mar 2020 program, involving an investment of around 775.6 million euros in the fisheries sector, aquaculture and the processing of its (fisheries and aquaculture) products,” according to the program’s latest status report.
In total, these projects received public support of 535.45 million euros.
Mar 2020, which is part of Portugal 2020, aims to implement support measures under the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF), and its priorities include promoting competitiveness and economic, social and environmental sustainability, as well as increasing territorial cohesion.
This program has an overall budget of approximately 504 million euros.
