Millennium bcp is working to reduce its ecological footprint and, to do so, is turning to solar energy. The bank has now installed its second photovoltaic plant on the Taguspark premises.
In all, 1834 photovoltaic panels have been installed that will generate energy to supply power from building 1 to building 8.
This new solar power park complements the first installation in Taguspark completed in late 2017 to produce electricity for buildings 9, 10 and 11. In five years of operation, the first installed solar panels have produced 5427 MWh.
The installation of photovoltaic panels at Millennium bcp‘s facilities, a project developed in partnership with EDP Comercial, is part of the Sustainability Plan that incorporates and promotes a culture of environmental responsibility and adaptation to climate change.
Already in December 2022, Millenium bcp decided to turn off the signs of more than 400 branches in Portugal in order to strengthen energy savings and reduce its footprint. In addition, the bank will use only green energy since 2021.
