TAP is among the 25 safest airlines in the world in the AirlineRatings.com ranking, led by Air New Zealand, but falling this year to 17th place.
In an article published on its website this month, the organization, which rates airlines, revealed that its top 25 for this year includes TAP in sixth place, as in 2023, with a rating of seven stars out of a possible seven in the safety category.
The table is led by Air New Zealand, with Quantas (first in 2023) and Virgin Australia completing the podium.
Finnair is the leading European airline, followed by British Airways, TAP Air Portugal, Lufthansa/Swiss Group and KLM.
Created in 2013, AirlineRatings.com rates the safety and on-board products of 385 airlines.
This ranking takes into account accidents in the last five years, serious incidents in the last two, audits by aviation and government authorities, the age of fleets and crew training.
In the low-cost segment, with a separate ranking, the safest airline for 2024 is Jetstar, out of 20 evaluated, followed by easyJet and Ryanair.
