The Portuguese women’s national soccer team got off to the best possible start today in the qualifying phase for the 2025 European Championship, beating Bosnia-Herzegovina 3-0 at home in the first round of Group B3.
At the Dr. Magalhães Pessoa Stadium in Leiria, Carole Costa (28 minutes), Sliskovic (45+4), in her own net, and Diana Silva (62) scored the goals for Portugal, who lead the group with three points, two more than Northern Ireland and Malta, who also drew 0-0 today, while the Bosnians are in last place, with no points.
Portugal, who are looking for their third appearance at the European Championship after 2017 and 2022, will play again on Tuesday when they visit Malta in the second round of the ‘poule’, scheduled for 17:30 (Lisbon time).
