The Council of Ministers will meet on Wednesday morning to approve the Government Program, the Prime Minister announced, noting that at today’s informal meeting this work was already “well advanced”.
There were no formal statements at the end of the informal government meeting that took place in the noble hall of Óbidos Town Hall, in the Leiria district, for around three and a half hours.
However, after the first group photo with the 59 leaders, while walking through the town center, Luís Montenegro said a few words to journalists.
According to the Prime Minister, today’s meeting went “very well” and the Government Program “is well advanced and will therefore enter parliament within the stipulated timeframe”.
“There’s always a lot of articulation, coordination and drafting work to do, but we’ll continue this work over the next few days. We will have a meeting of the Council of Ministers on Wednesday at 09:00 where we will approve the Government Program and send it to parliament,” he added.
The Program of the XXIV Constitutional Government will be debated in Parliament between Thursday and Friday.
