Environmental licensing for the project’s allotment operation is under public discussion. OPO City will have housing, commerce and services.
A total of 27 hectares of land in Perafita and Santa Cruz do Bispo, Matosinhos, promise to bring more homes to Greater Porto. At stake is the OPO City real estate project, which envisages the construction of residential, commercial and service buildings.
According to Jornal de Notícias, the environmental license for the OPO City allotment project is up for public discussion until May 8, and construction company Mota-Engil is responsible for the land development project. The land is largely occupied by industrial buildings and is located next to Decathlon and close to a shopping area with large stores, such as Mar Shopping and Ikea.
The publication writes that the real estate developers responsible for the project – the name is not disclosed – have the ambition of creating a sustainable urban community on the site, with the initial aim being to move forward with the construction of basic infrastructure (water, sanitation and energy) and accessibility.
It should be noted that the development was unveiled at MIPIM, the world’s largest real estate fair, which was recently held in Cannes (France). The start of construction has not yet been set, but the work should take a year and a half.
