The operation of the establishment was suspended “due to a lack of hygiene requirements”.
The Food and Economic Safety Authority (ASAE) seized approximately 6,000 liters of wine following an inspection of an establishment producing and bottling wine products in the municipality of Santo Tirso.
In addition to the seizure, “the respective administrative offence procedure was opened for the sale of wines or wine products without labeling and for the absence of a non-updated current account,” namely with regard to the existence of a “discrepancy between the physical stocks of the wine product and its entry in the current account balance,” ASAE said in a statement.
Following the operation, the establishment’s operation was suspended “due to a lack of cleanliness and hygiene requirements”.
“The total value of the seizure amounts to 5,000 euros,” adds the statement.
