The victims were bleeding internally.
On Thursday morning, the Portuguese Navy coordinated a search and rescue operation for two people, one aged 65 and the other 51, British and Indian respectively, who were on board the passenger ship Queen Anne.
The ship, which was sailing about 40 miles (80 kilometers approximately) southwest of Sines, made a call for help, reporting that the two crew members were bleeding internally.
According to the statement released to Notícias ao Minuto , as this was a non-urgent medical rescue and due to its proximity to the coast, the ship was sent to Sesimbra, where, in coordination with the Setúbal Port Captaincy, the SR29 speedboat was deployed, “in order to disembark them onto land, where they arrived at 11:38 a.m.,” the statement reads.
They were then transported to a hospital.
