The Marés Vivas festival, which runs from Friday to Sunday in Vila Nova de Gaia, will bring more than 30 national and international artists to the stage, including Take That, D’ZRT, Ben Harper, James Arthur and Snow Patrol.
Over the three days, the former Madalena campsite in Vila Nova de Gaia, in the district of Porto, will be the venue for Marés Vivas for the third year running and will be divided into five stages and a catering area.
The main stage, where performances start at 18:30, will feature 12 artists, four each day.
On the first day, the highlights will be the Portuguese `boysband’ D’ZRT and the British Take That, two of the first acts at the festival, joined by the Portuguese Syro, who is also performing for the first time at Marés Vivas, and DAMA.
On the other stages, and until the venue closes at 03:00, it will be possible to hear Catana, Bianca Barros, Leo 2745, Fernando Rocha and David Silva.
On the second day, the main stage will be occupied by British artist James Arthur, who has already appeared at other editions, and American Ben Harper, who is returning to the festival after 14 years, as well as Portuguese artist Marisa Liz and English singer-songwriter Rag’n’Bone Man.
Soraia Tavares, Insert Coin, Jel, Jonas and Dagu make up this day’s line-up.
The 16th edition of Marés Vivas closes with the Scottish alternative rock band Snow Patrol, who are also making their debut at the festival, as well as Louis Tomlison, who was part of the boy band One Direction and left in 2016.
In addition to these international artists, the third and final day of the festival will feature the presence on the main stage of the Portuguese Ornatos Violeta, who already performed here in 2019, and António Zambujo with the songs “Pica do 7” or “Lambreta”.
On this day, the artists Rúben Branco, Diana Castro, Mundo Segundo & Convidados and Jura will fill the remaining stages throughout the venue.
Throughout the three days, there will be performances at 19:00 and 01:15 by Orquestra Bamba Social, a group from Porto that presents their own work and revisits Brazilian music classics to which they add sounds from other styles such as jazz, funk and hip-hop.
During Marés Vivas, the Sociedade de Transportes Coletivos do Porto (STCP) will provide a shuttle service between 16:00 and 04:00, connecting Aliados (Porto) and the entrance to the venue.
Starting in downtown Porto, the buses assigned to this special service will pass by Ponte do Infante, Rua Conselheiro Veloso da Cruz and Quinta do Fojo, making a total of 20 stops to their destination.
