The fire that broke out this afternoon in the municipality of Ansião continues to give firefighters no respite, a source from the Leiria sub-regional emergency and civil protection command told Lusa.
The alert for the fire, in the parish of Santiago da Guarda, in the municipality of Ansião, district of Leiria, was given at 17:08 and almost three hours later it was still mobilizing more than 100 operatives and seven aerial resources.
At 19:44, a source from the Leiria sub-regional command said that the flames were not yet showing signs of giving way to the fight and that there were no homes at risk.
At 19:50, the website of the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority reported that the fire, in an area of scrubland, had mobilized 115 operatives, 31 vehicles and seven aircraft.
