A collision between a Carris Metropolitana bus and a passenger car on Saturday resulted in one fatality in Loures, in the district of Lisbon.

Hélder Dias, the deputy commander of the Sacavém Volunteer Fire Department, stated that the deceased victim was the driver of a TVDE (ride-hailing service) vehicle. The driver “had no identification with him” but appeared to be between 35 and 40 years old.

According to the same source, upon arrival at the scene, the man was “unconscious inside the vehicle,” and attempts were made to revive him, but they were unsuccessful. Death was declared at the scene, and the body was taken to the Institute of Legal Medicine.

A ten-year-old child was also injured in the accident. The boy was inside the bus and suffered “some abrasions,” but hospital transport was refused. The minor was accompanied by his mother.

The alert for the collision was given at 6:05 PM, and the accident occurred on National Road 250 at the intersection with Estrada Militar, near the Quinta da Fonte neighborhood.

The Sacavém Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene with two ambulances and an extrication vehicle, mobilizing nine operatives.
