As of 10:15 AM, a source from the Évora Territorial Command informed Lusa news agency that traffic is now alternating “through one lane of the road” since approximately 9:30 AM.
According to the Sub-regional Command of Emergency and Civil Protection of Central Alentejo, the accident involved two passenger vehicles and a tractor, causing “four serious injuries and one minor injury.”
The victims have since been transported by firefighters to the Hospital do Espírito Santo in Évora.
The incident, which was reported to authorities at 8:22 AM, occurred at kilometer 72 of EN370, which connects Évora to Arraiolos.
Due to the accident, traffic was temporarily cut off in both directions in that area, in Graça do Divor.
A total of 27 operatives were mobilized, supported by 12 vehicles, including resources from the fire department, GNR (National Republican Guard), National Institute of Medical Emergency with a medical emergency and resuscitation vehicle (VMER), and Infraestruturas de Portugal.
