Mariza, ProfJam and Marisa Liz are the headliners of the Flavors of Perdition Festival, which will take place on September 6, 7 and 8 in Castelo Branco, after a three-year break.
“The aim of this event is to promote our flavors and knowledge, to value local products linked to gastronomy,” said the mayor of Castelo Branco, Leopoldo Rodrigues, during a press conference to present the event.
The mayor stressed that the municipality wants to gain a prominent position in the agri-food sector.
The event will have a main tent, with two floors, installed in the Civic Center, with the ground floor being an area dedicated to knowledge and with a total of 24 exhibitors from the region, where handicrafts, embroidery from Castelo Branco and institutions such as the Association of the Agro-Industrial Cluster of the Center (InovCluster) and the Agri-Food Technical Support Center (CATAA) will be present.
Floor 1 is an area dedicated to flavors, where there will be three restaurants and 35 exhibitors linked to the region’s local products.
As well as this main area, the event also has outdoor spaces where street food stands will be set up.
In Praça 25 de Abril there will be an area dedicated to children and in the Kalifa parking lot there will be a go-kart track run by Escuderia de Castelo Branco (ECB).
The municipality has also invested in the presence of renowned artists who will be performing throughout the three days of the event, the first being the fado singer Mariza, who will be performing on the opening day, September 6, at 23:00.
ProfJam will follow on the 7th at 11pm and Marisa Liz will close the festival on the 8th at 10:30pm.
There will also be a Tribute to Tina Turner (on the 6th), a Tribute to Amy Winehouse (on the 7th) and a Tribute to Pink Floyd (on the 8th).
In addition to the entertainment program, the Flavours of Doom Festival also has showcookings with local products and gastronomic competitions.
The Sabores de Perdição Festival, which has a budget of half a million euros, returns to Castelo Branco after a three-year break and two editions in digital format.
