A 37-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday night on suspicion of robbery in the city of Porto, the Public Security Police (PSP) reported on Wednesday.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the PSP said that the arrest took place at 10:00 PM when the man, “unemployed and without a fixed residence,” stole 20 bottles of shampoo from a commercial establishment.
After being chased by an employee of the store, “the suspect armed himself with a box cutter that he had concealed” and injured the woman.
Some citizens present “managed to control and detain the suspect” until the arrival of the PSP.
The detainee was taken to PSP detention quarters and was presented to judicial authorities on Wednesday.
