A 26-year-old woman was arrested by the Judicial Police (PJ) for attempting to murder her partner in Santa Cruz do Bispo, Matosinhos. The crime occurred on Wednesday.
According to a statement from the PJ, the woman, “armed with a knife,” inflicted “several wounds to the chest, neck, and upper limbs” of the victim. The man was assisted by INEM (National Institute of Medical Emergency) and subsequently received hospital treatment.
Investigators were able to determine that the assault occurred following an argument between the couple, who had been living together for about a year.
The detainee has no criminal record and will be brought before a judge for the application of coercive measures.
