On August 26, the Republican National Guard recovered stolen material and identified two men, aged 26 and 38, as suspects for theft of beehives and swarms in the municipalities of Chaves and Vila Real.
The GNR explained in a statement this Tuesday that they executed three search warrants: one at a residence and one in a vehicle in the municipality of Chaves, and one on a property in the municipality of Vila Real, “following an investigation into the theft of beehives and swarms that had been ongoing for about three months.”
These searches “culminated in the identification of the suspects and the seizure of five beehives without swarms.”
The suspects were formally charged, and the facts were reported to the Judicial Court of Chaves.
