A Public Security Police (PSP) officer was assaulted early Wednesday morning in Largo Trindade Coelho, in the Bairro Alto neighborhood of Lisbon.
The information was confirmed by a source from the Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the PSP (Cometlis). The alert was given around 3:30 AM, following reports of assaults on the public street.
Officers dispatched to the scene intervened, and a woman ended up slapping the police officer.
The suspect was subsequently arrested.
The officer suffered minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment.
