The fire, which started around 6:00 PM, led to the closure of both directions of the Complementary Itinerary 9 (IC9) between the Ourém North junction and the Alburitel junction. The road was reopened around 8:50 PM, according to a source from the Sub-regional Command of Médio Tejo.
According to Civil Protection, the fire has been in resolution since 9:00 PM, with resources remaining on site.
“The aerial resources did an efficient job. Then, without aerial support, the ground teams managed to control the entire perimeter,” said a source from the Sub-regional Command of Médio Tejo.
Civil Protection has no record of injuries or damages due to the fire.
As of 10:00 PM, 146 operatives were on site, supported by 42 vehicles, according to the website of the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection.
