With the end of the school year – in some cases, it’s already over – and the return of fine weather, you must be thinking about the eternal dilemma: what to do this summer?
This may help: Missão Férias@Porto, the Porto City Council summer camps run by Ágora, are back. According to the municipality’s official news channel, over four thousand places are available this year for children and young people aged 6 to 15.
In concrete terms, this means that all you have to do is choose what you want to do during part of your vacation, and then, from July 3 to September 1, you can take part in themed weeks or dozens of sporting and cultural activities, divided into six poles.
This year’s summer camps take place at the following locations: Pavillon Irene Lisboa, Complexe sportif Monte Aventino, Pavillon Pêro Vaz de Caminha, Pavillon Viso and in the new hubs managed by Ágora, Pavillon Areosa and Pavillon Manoel de Oliveira.
When registering, parents must choose the week(s) they are interested in. Again this year, they are divided into Adventure, Discovery and Fantasy weeks, with dozens of cultural, sporting and recreational activities.
The offer includes sports such as climbing, fencing, rugby, skateboarding and surfing, as well as visits to museums, beaches, gardens and parks in the city, and workshops.
Also according to the Porto channel, 4224 places are available this year, of which 96 are reserved for free registration for children and young people reported by Porto City Council’s Social Cohesion Department and 54 places for the Adapted Sports Association (ADADA).
Registrations can be made at the reception desks of the Constituição, Cartes and Eng. Armando Pimentel; or digitally, via the Ágora’s Sports platform (in the dedicated Missão Férias@Porto area). Discounts are available for bookings of more than one week and for households with two or more children.
