Portuguese coach Abel Ferreira repeated his Paulistão triumph with Palmeiras on Sunday, winning his third title with the club, this time beating Santos 2-0 at home after losing 1-0 in the first leg.
Raphael Veiga, in the 31st minute, from the penalty spot, and Argentinian Moreno, in the 67th minute, scored the goals for Palmeiras, who won the São Paulo state title for the third time in a row, all under Abel.
The 45-year-old coach has now won his 10th title since taking over Palmeiras in 2020, adding to the three São Paulo championships (2022, 2023 and 2024), the last two editions of the Brasileirão (2022 and 2023) and two Copa Libertadores (2020 and 2021), as well as a South American Super Cup (2022), a Brazilian Cup (2020) and a Brazilian Super Cup (2023).
