The fire, which started around 6:00 PM, led to the closure of both directions of the Complementary Itinerary 9 (IC9) between the Ourém North junction and the Alburitel junction. The road was reopened at approximately 8:50 PM, according to a source from the Médio Tejo Sub-regional Command.
The same source reported that 60% of the fire’s perimeter is under control, with the left flank still active but yielding to firefighting efforts.
Civil Protection has no record of injuries or damages due to the fire so far.
As of 9:00 PM, 146 operational personnel were on site, supported by 42 vehicles, according to the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority’s website.
