The Portuguese economy will grow by 2.7% this year and 2.4% in 2024, predicts the Bank of Portugal (BoP), which today upgraded its GDP projections, highlighting better-than-expected first-quarter performance.
In the July “Economic Bulletin”, presented today in Lisbon by the governor of the banking supervisory authority, Mário Centeno, activity growth projections were improved on the 1.8% for this year and the 2% for 2024 and 2025 forecast in March.
“The Portuguese economy is expected to grow by 2.7% in 2023, 2.4% in 2024 and 2.3% in 2025,” says the report.
The regulator is therefore more optimistic than the government, which forecasts growth of 1.8% this year and 2% in 2024.
