Benfica became roller field hockey national champion for the 24th time today, equaling FC Porto in the leadership of the ranking, with a 3-1 victory at Sporting, in the fourth game of the play-offs final.
Gonçalo Pinto (10 and 22 minutes) and Lucas Ordoñez (33) scored the goals for the ‘reds’, who were already leading 2-1 at halftime, while Nolito (five) scored for the ‘lions’.
The ‘reds’ won the final of the play-offs by 3-1, having won the first and third games at home, both by 4-2, the first after extra time, and lost the second, at João Rocha, by 6-3.
