Yesterday afternoon, the City Council signed protocols for financial and logistical support for youth, cultural and social institutions operating in the municipality, with a total value of more than 103 thousand euros. In addition to this support for associations in the municipality, around 196,000 euros have been allocated to sports associations.
This investment, which totals more than 300,000 euros, reflects the importance attributed by the municipality to organizations “that play a fundamental role in the community”, according to a statement from the city council.
“We are fully aware of the vital role these institutions play in our municipality. That’s why we’ve adopted a careful and equitable policy in granting support for 2024, ensuring that resources are used effectively and benefit our entire community,” says Mayor Leonel Silva.
Among the beneficiaries of this support are: scout groups, cultural and recreational associations, social support institutions in the municipality and other organizations that provide support to residents.
“Our aim is to continue supporting these important institutions and also to ensure that this support is distributed in a fair and transparent way, contributing to the sustainable development of our municipality,” added Leonel Silva. “Every euro invested in these institutions is an investment in our collective future, in social cohesion and in the cultural enrichment of our community,” he said.
The City Council reiterates that extraordinary support will not be granted to institutions with an annual protocol, except under special circumstances assessed in advance. “This rigor in the allocation of funds aims to ensure the maximum effectiveness and impact of the resources made available, while respecting the need for financial discipline,” adds the executive in a press release.
