Cristina Ferreira took to social media to share a message with her followers following the publication of the Portuguese school rankings.
TVI presenter and director of entertainment and drama Cristina Ferreira was once a teacher. On the occasion of the publication of the Portuguese school rankings, Cristina recalls those days and leaves a message for her followers with images captured in 2013 in her elementary school.
“The ranking of Portuguese schools is out, showing by numbers the best and the worst. And there’s nothing worse. Schools are not numbers. What is a good school? This may not be an easy question to answer, and each of us has our own opinion. A public school student, a public school teacher and the mother of a public school student say. The best school is the one that teaches you to think. There are 12 that are worth more than 18,” she begins.
“My son was lucky enough to have a teacher who never gave him homework. To this day, she’s still attentive to her boys,” she says.
After many years, the presenter remembers her teaching days: “That was many years ago. I taught in a school considered difficult by the surrounding community. I had the most extraordinary students, and it wasn’t about grades. It’s the people who make the schools.”
“We’ve all changed in recent years. The school must keep up with this change and adapt to the student. School must be a place of enthusiasm and joy. The rest is just numbers. Congratulations to all those who, every day, strive to make school a happy place,” he concludes.
After the publication, Cristina also shared a message she received: “It’s true, Cristina. You were my daughter’s teacher at Professor Agostinho da Silva’s school in Casal de Cambra. We still remember you fondly today”.
“Following the article, I received this comment. I exchanged messages with the person to try to find out who was the girl I had tutored. I was very pleased to receive a photo and to know that he was a sergeant in the navy. That was 22 years ago…” she recounts.
Cristina Ferreira was recently in Mallorca, where she fired up her followers with her bathing-suit and bathtub photos.
