An earthquake measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale shook the municipalities of Albufeira and Loulé in the Faro district this Friday.
It was also felt, although with less intensity, in the municipalities of Faro, Lagoa, Portimão and Silves.
According to the Portuguese Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Research (IPMA), no personal or material damage has been reported.
In a statement, the Institute explains that the earthquake, registered at 3:55 a.m., had its epicenter about 4 kilometers northeast of Albufeira and was felt with maximum intensity IV / V (modified Mercalli scale) in the municipalities of Albufeira and Loulé (Faro).
It was also felt, although with less intensity, in the municipalities of Faro, Lagoa, Portimão and Silves.
