An 81-year-old man who had been missing from a care home since April 22 in Marinha Grande was located this Friday afternoon at around 4:00 PM.
The disappearance was reported by an employee of the care facility where he resided. The Public Security Police (PSP) stated in a released communiqué that various PSP units were immediately deployed to locate him, encompassing an extended area in their search efforts.
Authorities noted that after three days, the elderly man was discovered by a family member in a vacant lot approximately one kilometer from the point of disappearance. The search was hindered by the dense vegetation in the area.
According to the report, the man was “conscious and stable” and was taken to the emergency department of Santo André Hospital in Leiria for further assessment.
