Euro2024: FPF has already collected 12.75 ME in prize money in Germany

The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) has so far collected 12.75 million euros in prize money from the national team’s participation in the Euro2024 finals in Germany, an amount that could increase against Georgia.

According to UEFA, qualification for the German tournament earned the FPF’s coffers, and those of the other 23 countries, 9.25 ME, a figure that was raised by the wins over the Czech Republic (2-1) in the opening match in Leipzig and Turkey (3-0) in Dortmund.

At Euro2024, every win in the group stage is worth 1 ME and a draw has a ‘reward’ of 500 thousand.

So, even though they have already qualified and secured first place, Portugal have 1 ME at stake on Wednesday against Georgia in Gelsenkirchen, at the end of Group F.

The win over Turkey also earned the FPF a further €1.5 million in prize money for reaching the last 16.

On July 1, in Frankfurt, with an opponent yet to be named (it will be one of the best third-placed teams in Group A, B or C), Portugal could collect another 2.5 ME if they reach the quarter-finals.

A place in the semi-finals is worth €4,000, with second place worth €5,000 and the title of champion worth €8,000.

All in all, a team that wins all its group games and manages to win Euro2024 will return home with an extra 28.25 ME in its accounts.

In total, UEFA will distribute 331 ME in prize money at Euro2024.
