Two newborn kittens were rescued on Saturday afternoon by firefighters who were battling a rural fire in Sines.
“Two baby kittens were saved today by our operatives during the rural fire that broke out in Sines,” announced the Santo André Volunteer Firefighters on their Facebook page.
The fire department also shared images of the felines, showing them in the palms of the firefighters’ hands.
According to local media, the alert for the fire was given at 1:43 PM on Saturday, and 53 operatives were mobilized, supported by 20 ground vehicles and three aerial resources. The flames consumed an area of pasture and brush and were extinguished around 5:00 PM.
