The fire in the Montesinho Natural Park, in Soutelo, Carragosa, in the municipality of Bragança, has been fought for almost two days by more than two hundred firefighters.
In an update provided at 10 AM this Monday, Civil Protection revealed that the “fire remains active.” Currently, there are “261 firefighters combating the blaze, assisted by 91 vehicles and six aerial resources.”
The alert for this fire was given at 7:55 PM on Saturday, and by early Sunday morning, it had developed into two active fronts.
Meanwhile, the fire that broke out, supposedly due to a thunderstorm, in the municipality of Vimioso, in the district of Bragança, also on Saturday, “has been under control since 5 AM.” Only a few firefighters remain on site “to prevent reignitions.”
