M for Metro.

It was scheduled for this Thursday between 5:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., with repeats on May 21 and May 30.

This Wednesday, May 17th, it was announced that Metropolitano de Lisboa workers would organize a partial strike that would take place between 5 am and 9:30 am on May 18th, 23rd and 30th. On the same day, they announced that, after all, these temporary stoppages were suspended “after a very significant dialogue effort made both by Metropolitano de Lisboa and by the Unions”, says the company.

As for the reason for the strikes, the workers mention wages and other matters: “Namely those that have to do with issues that are in the managerial sphere of the company alone, on which we could try to reach an understanding, but it hasn’t been possible yet.

Metropolitano de Lisboa, however, “stresses that it remains available to continue constructive negotiations on the various matters of the Company Agreement in force, in the search for joint solutions to improve working conditions and remuneration” in the company.

“These measures will contribute to the improvement of working and living conditions of all those who are the greatest asset of Metropolitano de Lisboa, and through their work, propose to deliver a quality public service to Metropolitano customers, and thus contribute to an increasingly sustainable urban mobility”, concludes Metro.

Don’t forget: tomorrow there is a Metro de Lisboa strike. Service only resumes near 10 am
