Fernando Medina, the Minister of Finance, announced today that the Council of Ministers has approved the resolution to conduct independent evaluations of TAP in order to initiate the privatization process for the airline.
“The Council of Ministers approved the resolution authorizing the Ministry of Finance and Parpblica to conduct independent assessments of TAP,” Medina announced at a press conference alongside Infrastructure Minister Joo Galamba.
According to Medina, these two independent financial evaluations are “required by law under the Privatization Law as a precondition for the company’s privatization process.”
The head of the Finance portfolio explained, “This resolution has the significance of mandating the Ministry of Finance to carry out the actions necessary to determine the company’s valuation.”
