The Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, announced today that the government will meet on Friday afternoon with the representative structures of the security forces, a meeting that will take place at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“Since I opened the debate here at 10 a.m., I’ve been able to confirm that, for example, the first meeting with the forces representing the security forces will take place tomorrow afternoon at the Ministry of Internal Affairs,” said the leader of the executive.
Luís Montenegro was speaking in the Assembly of the Republic, during the debate on the program of the XXIV Constitutional Government, in response to a request for clarification from the PAN’s sole member of parliament, Inês de Sousa Real.
“We are already fulfilling what I said in my initial speech, that in the next few days we would open the negotiation process with both the security forces and the teachers, which are the two priority sectors in this area,” the Prime Minister stressed.
In his opening speech at the debate, the Prime Minister announced that, in the next ten days, the government would begin talks with representatives of the teachers and the security forces, “with a view to dealing with issues related to careers and pay status”.
