According to a source from the Republican National Guard (GNR), a vehicle reportedly veered off the road and overturned onto the highway at kilometer 83 of the A1 motorway, in the north-south direction, occupying the middle and right lanes.
The accident occurred at 10:00 AM, and currently, traffic is only moving through the left lane, causing a traffic queue of about 2.5 kilometers.
The same source added that the accident only involved the heavy goods vehicle and that there are only material damages to report, clarifying that there is no merchandise scattered on the lanes.
“In terms of alternative routes, it’s the national road 3, kilometer 94, Torres Novas exit,” advised the source, refusing to make predictions about when the vehicle will be removed or when traffic will return to normal.
A GNR patrol remains at the scene.
