
When comparing the prices from March of this year to those in March 2024, the National Consumer Price Index (IPCN) indicates a year-on-year variation of 23.85%, showing a decrease of 1.41 percentage points, according to a report from INE.
The index recorded a variation of 1.38% from February to March 2025, as stated by the Statistical Institute.
The drop in inflation in March confirms the downward trend in prices observed in Angola over the past eleven months, since May 2024, as highlighted by INE data.
The “transportation” category experienced the highest price increase, with a variation of 1.83%. Notable increases were also observed in the “alcoholic beverages and tobacco” category with 1.77%, “hotels, cafes, and restaurants” with 1.75%, and “clothing and footwear” with 1.62%.
The provinces that registered the smallest price variations were Lunda Sul at 1.34%, Malanje at 1.23%, and Luanda at 1.18%. In contrast, Bié (2.09%), Moxico (1.88%), and Cabinda (1.88%) were the provinces with the highest price variations during this period.
