Lisbon Music Fest, an international festival of orchestras, choirs, bands, jazz big bands and chamber music ensembles, opens tomorrow, June 16, at 4 pm, with the Arkansas State University Concert Choir (USA) at the Palácio Nacional da Ajuda, Lisbon.
The festival returns to the stage between June 16 and July 22, 2023, and reinforces its path of national and international affirmation, continuing to emphasize the symbiosis between Music and Heritage. All concerts are free and take place in the main venues and monuments of Lisbon, Porto, Setúbal, Batalha, Peniche, Paços de Brandão (Portugal) and Granada (Andalusia, Spain).
The program for this year’s Lisbon Music Fest includes the Arkansas State University Concert Choir (USA), Joven Orquesta de Cuenca (Spain), Banda Sinfónica Avanzada de la Escuela Libre de Música Antonio Paoli (Puerto Rico), the Wind and Percussion Orchestra of the Conservatório Regional de Artes do Montijo (Portugal), the Jazz Ensemble 1 of the University of Central Oklahoma (USA), the Princeton Girlchoir (USA), the St. Paul’s Girls’ Choir & Choir (USA), the St. Paul’s Girls’ Choir & Choir (USA), the St. Paul’s Girls’ Choir & Choir (USA) and the St. Paul’s Girls’ Choir & Choir (USA). Paul’s Girls’ Choir & Orchestra (England) and Trio Perpétuo (Portugal), winner of the Chamber Music category of the RTP Young Musicians’ Award (2022 edition).
“Following the success of previous editions, it is with renewed enthusiasm and satisfaction that we present the 2023 edition of the Lisbon International Youth Music Festival,” declares Tiago Neto, Festival Director, while welcoming all the young musicians taking part and reinforcing the desire “for them to interact and share different cultures and artistic experiences in a welcoming and stimulating environment.”
