“If the party is entrusted with this responsibility, if voters want the party to be able to perform executive functions, we are prepared,” stated Rui Tavares in Olhão, in the Faro district.
The spokesperson for Livre traveled to the Ria Formosa Natural Park, Quinta de Marim, where he visited the regional facilities of the Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests (ICNF) and the Wildlife Recovery and Investigation Center (RIAS).
Rui Tavares highlighted the areas in which Livre “has a wealth of resources and can contribute in executive functions,” namely the environment, science and research, as well as European and international issues.
“It’s not about what Livre wants for itself, but rather what the country needs,” he said.
The spokesperson emphasized that his visit to the Algarve “was not merely a campaign action, but rather to learn because much of what is learned will translate into legislative activity and amendments to the State Budget.”
“The environment and development go hand in hand, and we want to contribute to the development of the Algarve, allowing families to live more prosperously,” he stressed.
For Rui Tavares, development, the economy, and the environment can coexist “in a balanced manner,” with the financing of public policies that help, for instance, fishing communities become more sustainable.”
