Single-list candidate succeeds Ricardo Freitas
Leonilde Cassiano, the sole-list candidate for the UGT Madeira social bodies, was elected by an absolute majority. Of the 64 delegates voting at the UGT Madeira IV Congress, the successor to Ricardo Freitas, who has reached the limit of consecutive terms (3 terms/quarter), was elected with 62 votes in favor and 2 against.
The IV UGT Madeira Congress concludes with speeches by Rui Barreto, Regional Secretary for the Economy, Mário Mourão, General Secretary of the UGT Portugal, and Leonilde Cassiano, recently elected President of the UGT Madeira Executive Secretariat, an event held at the Hotel Vila Porto Mare.
