The Public Security Police (PSP) arrested a 40-year-old man in Lisbon on August 16 at 7:45 PM on suspicion of domestic violence.
According to a statement, the police responded to a call for help from the victim and went to the location.
Upon leaving her home, the woman, who had been a victim of domestic violence for several months, found all four tires of her vehicle punctured. She suspected her ex-boyfriend was responsible for the crime.
The victim was accompanied to her residence by the police, who suspected that the man might be hiding and waiting for the victim inside the building.
After inspecting the entire area surrounding the residence, they encountered the suspect on the floor above where the victim lives, “clearly in an area that would allow him to surprise the victim when she arrived home.”
A knife was found in his possession, and he was placed in preventive detention.
