Another summer, another edition of the Citrus restaurant’s “Pool Brunch” initiative at the Lisbon Marriott hotel, near Lisbon’s Praça de Espanha. Until October 8, every Sunday, a brunch menu with access to the pool will be offered.
The setting has always existed, nestled between the hotel’s two tall towers: large palm trees, a vast lawn, numerous trees and a pool lined with deckchairs. Taking advantage of this asset, virtually unrivalled in the capital’s hotels, the Citrus restaurant has created a new brunch open to non-guests, complete with towels and access to the pool. The Pool Brunch is available until October 8, when a new menu will be launched.
For some time now, under the guidance of chef Dominic Smart, the brunch buffet has been more compact, featuring artisan breads with butter and virgin olive oil as place settings. Starters include yoghurts topped with granola crumble or fresh-cut fruit. For salads, there’s a small buffet, as well as gazpacho, pork with chili and pineapple salsa and shrimp with zucchini tagliatelle (main courses, with sides).
Egg lovers can also count on a live cooking station, where a chef prepares eggs to order, including eggs Benedict, florentine, royale, sardou and netuno. To finish on a high note, an ice cream bar offers eight flavors, as well as small dessert glasses with ginger passion fruit misu, cottage cheese tart, pineapple ginger and fruit salad. Water and natural juices are provided by Citrus, which offers each guest a cocktail with rosé wine on arrival.
DJs Booster, Cardana, Carlos Ferreira, Daveed and SYNC will liven up the new edition of the Pool Brunch between 1pm and 5pm, with lounge, chillout, deep house and disco tunes. The buffet is open from 12.30 to 3.30 pm, and access to the pool is available until 6 pm. Eating and diving at the hotel costs 59 euros/adult (children aged 5 to 10 pay half). Access to the pool alone, without brunch, costs 30 euros on weekdays and 35 euros on weekends, from 11am to 7pm, between June and August.
