Contacted by Lusa news agency, a source from the District Command of the PSP (Public Security Police) in Viana do Castelo reported that the victim, who was stabbed in the abdominal area, is in stable condition at Santa Luzia hospital.
The stabbing occurred around 6:20 AM on Campo do Castelo Avenue, at the Cantinho do Pescador café.
The victim, who has a residence permit in Portugal, was found in the establishment’s bathroom.
According to the PSP, “the attacker or attackers are currently unknown and fled the scene.”
“The location has video surveillance footage, and image preservation has been carried out. The area was properly cordoned off to preserve evidence, and the Judicial Police from Braga were contacted and arrived at the scene,” the PSP source stated.
